The short answer is 'yes'.
Many drivers believe purchasing an electric car is risky. I personally believe if you are using your car locally for work purposes or even to drop the children off at school, what is the issue? You are exempt from road tax, saving money on fuel and on top of all this the government paid a contribution towards the cost of your car.
Every car over three years old requires an MOT certificate to be deemed roadworthy. No car over this age can legally drive on the road without one, except in very specific circumstances or if the car is more than 40 years old.
How is an electric car MOT different?
One of the main differences is the car doesn't need to pass an emissions test due to not having an exhaust. Everything else does apply including the recent MOT test changes. You can save money when it comes to wear and tear on the car's brakes. Regenerative braking does not’t actually use the brakes at all which means they'll last longer.
